(Notes from RotorHeads in remembrances of this individual)

I met Benny in 1990 when I was at Patrick AFB. We took one of our H-3’s to an air show in Titusville and met Benny when he came to look at our H-3. It was then when he told us he had flew with the Jolly’s in Vietnam. In May of that year I went to my 1st Jolly Green reunion. Benny & I drove together from Coco Beach. I really enjoyed his company on that trip. In September of that year I PCS’ed to Las Vegas and never was in touch with Benny again. I’ve often thought of him and that trip. I did not know him very well. But I am sorry to hear of his passing. All my best to his family and friends.

I was an Air Force helicopter pilot from 1955-1974. Our paths crossed somewhere along the line. Possibly at Stead AFB in the early 1960’s but it’s been so long ago I can’t really remember. He was one of the fine young men that kept our birds in the air so us pilots would have something to do. God Speed, Benny.

The winds may blow or the breeze may safely moan But there’s no life so free as the life we see way out in THE WILD BLUE YONDER. Although I have only seen Uncle Benny once in a great many years I have often thought of him. He was and is one of the best Uncles, Friend and even a good pal when I was growing up. He will always be remembered.

My family and I want to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of Benny D. Negrette. I had the honor of meeting Benny through his son-in-law Joe who worked with me at the Patrick A.F.B. pharmacy. Very nice gentleman who you just don’t forget after meeting him for the first time. Benny’s family and friends will certainly miss him! I’m sure with time all of us will have the opportunity to meet once again. You gotta believe! Sincerely, John, Suzy, Jackie, Jason, Teresa and Ty Pellay
