September 18, 1959 – May 21, 2018

Royalton – Jeffrey “Red” Dean Anshus, 58 year old resident of Royalton passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 after a battle with lung cancer. A Celebration of Jeff’s Life and Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 30 at the Royalton American Legion Post from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. The dinner will run from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and will be all you can eat for $10 for adults and $5 for kids under the age of 12. The burial will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley.

Jeffrey Dean Anshus was born on September 18, 1959 in Little Falls to Dean and Valerie “Val” Anshus. He served his County in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he worked as a helicopter and jet engine mechanic. Jeff was united in marriage to Tracy Smith on September 14, 1985 in Lompoc, CA. The couple made their home in the Royalton area. Jeff was active with the Royalton Community Education for 18 years and brought soccer to Royalton. He worked as a Black Smith for many years with Central Minnesota Black Smithing. Jeff enjoyed woodworking and donated many canes to the St. Cloud VA. He treasured his time spent with his kids, grandkids and thoroughly enjoyed photography. Jeff will always be remembered as a giver.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tracy of Royalton; sons, Dan Anshus of St. Cloud, Dean (Lori Paulson) of Waite Park; grandchildren, Hailey, Jordan, Emma and Hannah; mother, Val Anshus; sisters, Nancy (Brian) Nasi, Wendy (Bill) Klett; brother, Mark Anshus; niece, Dina Hernandez; nephews, Brad Hernandez, Tom (Amanda) Schuyler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Anshus.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud “VA Last Wishes Program”.

The arrangements for Jeffrey are with Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton.
