Thomas E. Bair, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
February 27, 1940 – May 25, 1986
Lt. Col. Thomas E. Bair, 46, of Cedar Hill, TX, formerly of York, died at 6:50 am Sunday at Methodist Medical Center, Dallas Texas.
Lt. Col. Bair was born in York, the son of T. Bertram and Romaine M. Landis Bair, York.
An officer in the U.S. Air force, he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Dallas, and was the Southwestern U.S. liaison officer of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a rescue helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran for 24 years.
A 1958 graduate of William Penn Senior High School of York, he also was a graduate of the University of Miami, Miami, Florida.
Survivors include: Two daughters Karen Ellingson and Lori Bair, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Funeral was today at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Dallas. A graveside service, with full military honors by a military honor guard will be noon Friday in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
