Michael John Briody, Major, USAF (Retired)

July 13, 1960 – October 19, 2022

Michael John Briody, 62 of Moriarty NM went to his heavenly home on October 19th, 2022. He was born on July 13, 1960, in Eureka California to William and Bonita Briody.

Mike is preceded in death by his father William Briody, Beloved Mother Bonita (Coates) Briody, and brother Robin Mahler.

He is survived by Brothers, William Mahler, James Briody, Daniel Briody, many nieces and nephews and Family at the VFW Post 3370 in Moriarty, NM where he was Commander for the past 6 years.

Mike was proud of his alma mater Texas A&M and graduated from the ROTC program there. Upon graduation he joined the US Air Force, where he became a decorated helicopter pilot. He achieved the rank of Major before retiring. He proudly spoke often of flying the HH-3E “Jolly Green Giant” Helicopter.

Mike was a peacemaker by nature with a kind heart and listening ear to anyone who needed it. Mike was proud of his Irish Heritage and shared it with others every chance he could. He enjoyed Music, going to concerts and Baseball. He was a regular Isotopes attendee with his group of friends.

Mike will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

A Memorial service will be held at The United Bethel Methodist Church in Moriarty Located at 2700 Route 66 in Moriarty NM 87035 Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM with snacks to follow in fellowship hall.
