David “Tom” Bullington of Dallas died on July 7 of congestive heart failure in Dallas. He was 56.
He was born in Augusta, Ark., and moved with his family to Dallas in 1951.
He graduated from Dallas High School in 1964 and entered the Air Force later that year. He served in Alaska and Viet Nam as a helicopter mechanic for four years.
He returned to Dallas and established his own construction business. He later relocated continuing his business in Texas and Alabama. He also served as an AA counselor while living in Texas.
In 1990 he returned to Oregon and continued his construction business until he fell ill in 1993.
His interests included fishing, camping and woodworking in his own shop. He made many pieces of furniture, birdhouses and wood creations that were treasured by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Diane, children, and grandchildren; sisters, Priscilla “Pat” Main of Amity and Rita Kaltenbach of Salem; and uncle, Bud Bullington of La Mirada, Calif.
No services will be held at his request.
A celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27 at the old side of the Dallas City Park.
