1964, Office Training School.
1965, at Randolph AFB, TX. for pilot training, T-28A’s then at Stead AFB, NV. for Helicopter School 66E/H in H-19B’s and CH-3C’s.
1966 – 1967, at Turner AFB, GA with the 1371st Photo Mapping Squadron as a CH-3C/E pilot.
1967 – 1968, at Forbes AFB, KS. with the 1371st Photo Mapping Squadron as a C/HH-3E Aircraft Commander, awarded the Sikorsky “Winged S” for rescue in Canal Zone in May 1968.
1968 – 1969, at Da Nang AB, RVN with the 37th ARRs Rescue Crew Commander and Instructor Pilot.
1970 – 1979, at Grissom AFB, IN. I flew A-37B’s at Grissom AFB. In 21st SOS then 45th TFS, Squadron Flying Safety Officer/Pilot.
1979 – 1986, at NAS New Orleans, LA. with the 706th TFS. I flew A-37B’s and A-10A’s. I was awarded Group Flying Safety Officer/Pilot // awarded 8-9 additional Air Medals and 2 DFCs but never received the awards and many attempts to find — unsuccessful. Last confirmation the awards were mailed by Lt. Col. Charles Lowry unit awards and Decorations Officer.
November 1986 – Retired at NAS New Orleans, LA.
