William A. Chambers, Major, USAF (Retired)
December 14, 1930 – November 26, 2005
William Allen (Bill) Chambers of Tucson, Arizona, entered into glory on November 26, 2005, in Tucson, AZ. Bill was born December 14, 1930, in Gosper County, Nebraska to Allen and Meta Chambers.
After graduation from Arapahoe High School in 1948 and attending Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, Bill entered the Air Force Cadet Program and became a pilot. After 23 years of service to his country, Bill retired in Tucson with the rank of Major in 1975. Following military retirement, Bill pursued a career in financial services and life insurance with The Principal Financial Group which he enjoyed until his passing.
Bill is survived in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Glenda; son, William Allen; daughter, Tonya Lynn and husband Pat Moyle; grandchildren, Patrick, Lynnea and Luke; brother, Terry and wife Elloise; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Included in Bill’s many passions in life were his love of family, his grandchildren, his friends and activities at Pusch Ridge Christian Church and his love for his fellow man. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, from 500 – 800 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. @ Magee. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Pusch Ridge Christian Church, 440 W. Calle Concordia at 1100 a.m. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.

Major Chambers served in the Vietnam War as a CH-3C/E pilot with the 20th Helicopter Squadron “Pony Express” in the 1968-1969-time frame.
