Gerald O. “Gerry” Chase, age 84, of North Adams, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at his home. He was born November 6, 1941, in Tecumseh, to Frank and Norma (Reum) Chase.

Gerry graduated from Tecumseh High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1967 and later in the Air Guard in Battle Creek from 1987 to 2001. He also served his community by being a Reserve Officer on the Jonesville Police Department. Gerry was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church, member of the Jonesville American Legion and was instrumental in organizing the military and fourth of July parade, including flyovers from military aircraft’s, cannon salutes, and re-enactments in mid-1970’s – early 2000’s. Gerry volunteered at the Salvation Army and was also a former member of Masonic Lodge. Gerry loved his family and especially enjoyed good conversations that always included jokes. He was an avid hockey fan rooting for the K-Wings, the Detroit Red Wings, and Michigan and Notre Dame athletics.

Survivors include five children, Kimberly Chase of Coldwater, Debbi (Bob) Swick of Jackson, Scott Chase of Hillsdale, and Josh (Claude) Chase of Virginia, twelve grandchildren including his granddaughter Kaitlyn Reese, whom he saw more as a daughter than a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and companion, Karol Booher.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, and two Siblings, Sharon (Steve) Bossen, and Larry (Linda) Chase.

A memorial service for Gerry Chase will take place Thursday February 19, at 11:00 AM at the Jonesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Private interment will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, MI.
