Christianson, Geoffrey S.

Geoffrey (Geoff) Scott Christianson, USAF
June 17, 1969 – February 20, 2024
Geoffrey (Geoff) Scott Christianson went peacefully to be with the Lord, with family nearby, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the age of 54 after a courageous sixteen-month battle with brain cancer.
Geoff was born on June 17, 1969, at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, WI, to Norman and Donella (Shong) Christianson.
He attended the Stanley-Boyd Area Schools. In high school he was a member of the band,
National Honor Society and Boy Scouts. Growing up he was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where he was baptized, attended Sunday school and confirmed. He graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School with the Class of 1987.
As a child, Geoff was always curious about how things worked and would question repair people who came to the house. He loved tinkering with things, including old motorcycles and snowmobiles, and cars, but old radios and tv’s, with antique radios being his favorite. He succeeded in getting some of them working again, including an old radio that belonged to his grandfather and his little portable radio from his teenage years.
Geoff wanted to travel the world and signed up on the delayed enlistment with the US Air Force in his senior year of high school. After completing basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, he was stationed in Germany in 1988 where his daughter was born. He was sent back to the states a few years later where his son was born in 1994, then was assigned back overseas to England where another son was born in 2000 and resided there. He worked with the communication equipment on the aircraft while in the Air Force, being deployed to several places over the years. Geoff served his country for 20 active years, then retired as an MSGT and worked in the UK for the Federal Government. He said he was happy with his life, glad he did the things he did, and had no regrets.
Geoff was a very loving, compassionate, and caring person, always going above and beyond to help others and caring for his family. He was loved by everyone he met. He met and married the love of his life, Zoe English on November 30, 2019. His greatest delight was spending time with his two grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Zoe, his dog Pixie, children Franziska (David) Richards of the UK, Benjamin (Hyeonah) of Germany, and Selwyn of the UK, grandchildren Azalie and Damian Richards, parents Norman and Donella Christianson, brothers Michael (Carrie), Matthew (Gwen), Daniel, and sister Lynn (Chris) Buske, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Herman and Beulah
Christianson, Wesley E. and Evelyn Shong, and his aunts Ruth and Debra, other aunts, uncles, cousins, and great grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 26, 11:00am at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church-Stanley with Pastor Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Visitation 9:30 to the time of service at the church. Inurnment will be in East Side Cemetery with military honors by Thorp American Legion Post 118 and the other was in the Mintlyn Crematorium in the UK.
Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family.
