David A. Cochenour, Major, USAF (Retired)

David Allen Cochenour FORT WORTH – David Allen Cochenour, a retired Air Force major, died Friday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 56.

There will be no service.

Mr. Cochenour was born in Thomasville, Ga., and had lived in Fort Worth for 20 years. Mr. Cochenour was a member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Citadel Club. He was a graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and served as a rescue helicopter pilot in the Air Force. He was a Vietnam War veteran.

He was a director of the North Benbrook Neighborhood Association.

Family suggests that memorials be made to the Circle T Girl Scout Council. Survivors: Wife, Mary Lee Cochenour of Fort Worth; son, Lee Franklin Cochenour of Fort Worth; daughter, Beth Phillips of Fort Worth; mother, Carol M. Cochenour of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Capt. Cochenour served as a HH-43F pilot with Det. 13, 38th ARRS during the Vietnam War in the 1969/1970 time-frame.
