Robert “Bobby” Converse, 80, of Sandston, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

He was preceded in death by “two wonderful wives,” Sylvia and Feith. He is survived by two sons, Lee (Georgia) and Tom (Leslie); and his daughter, Angia; seven grandchildren, Jax (Willow), Kristin (Daniel), Seth, Tate, Ella, Lola and KO; four great-grandchildren, Braeden, Parker, Nicholas and Leah; and one great great-grandchild, Alyza; his dog, Franklin; and many friends.

Bobby loved golf and NASCAR but he loved helping people most of all. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he lived his life in service of others.

The family wishes to thank Happie Harris for loving Bobby and taking care of him in his final days. The family also wishes to thank Jeff Grimes, of the VA medical center, for going above and beyond in helping Bobby get excellent care.

As per Bobby’s wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Robert Converse served a tour in the Vietnam War as an airborne fire fighter on HH-43B/F’s with the 38th ARRS.
