USAF ROTORHEAD Members

Enlisted as Aviation Cadet 1956 & commissioned Jan 1958. Spent entire career in the Air Rescue Service flying helicopters and the HC-130H/P/N. Was the ARRS Project Pilot for development of helicopter Air Refueling in 1966. On May 8, 1967, flew the first COMBAT SAR mission out of Da Nang using helicopter air refueling. Was awarded DFC with V. Also was first Air Force pilot to Log 1,000 Hrs. in the H-3 helicopter.

1958 – 1959 with the 54th ARS

1961 – 1964 with Det. 13 EARC.

1964 – 1966 with Det. 15 EARC.

1967 – 1968 with 3rd ARRGp.

1968 – 1971 with HQ. ARRS.

1971 – 1975 with 67th ARRS.

1975 – 1979 with OLK ARRS.

1979 – 1984 with 1550th CCTW.
