Clifton Davis

Entered AF in 1962

1964 – at Perrin AFB, TX. after Tech school at Greenville, MS. Started flying with Air Rescue on the HH-43B.

1965 – at Thule AB, Greenland and flew 6 mo. there with ARS.

1966 – at McChord AFB, WA. and flew 2 years there.

Then to Takhli AB, Thailand and flew 7 months there.

Then was assigned to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, no Pedro there SAC.

Was selected for flying spot along with 7 other Fireman to Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Some where we got lost and they were closing Cam Ranh Bay so they sent us to Tan Son Nhut in Saigon to re-open Bien Hoa. Flew 360 Combat sorties out of Tan Son Nhut and Bien Hoa.

Was sent to Travis AFB, CA. after leaving Vietnam. No more 43s. HH-43s were to be phased out and I was to fly no more.

Back to the Fire House. Then assigned to Eielson AFB, Alaska for 4 1/2 years.

Then to Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Was Asst. Chief of Training the first year there then Asst. Chief operation for 2 years.

Retired 1982.

Worked Civil service at Barksdale then Transferred to Seymour Johnson.

Disabled retire as GS-7 in 1999
