Luther Eugene Davis was born on April 11, 1947. According to our records Tennessee was his home or enlistment state and Anderson County included within the archival record. We have Oak Ridge listed as the city.
He had enlisted in the Air Force. Entered via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on August 15, 1969. He had the rank of Staff Sergeant. Service number was 410803757. Served with 7th Air Force, 37th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron.
Davis experienced a traumatic event which resulted in loss of life on April 15, 1970. Recorded circumstances attributed to: “Died of wounds or effects of action, air crash on land”. Incident location: South Vietnam, Kontum province.
Luther is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC. Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 10w, Line 96.
