Robert (Bob) W. Davis

Robert (Bob) W. Davis, Major, USAF (Retired)

June 06, 1931 – May 22, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert William “Bob” Davis announces his passing on May 22, 2022. Bob was born on June 6, 1931, in Bethlehem, PA, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Kresge) Davis. At 18 he enlisted with the US Air Force where he proudly served his country for 20 years. He served in the Vietnam War as a pilot assigned largely to rescue missions co-piloting the Jolly Green Giant helicopter. Bob retired as a Major for the USAF in 1971 then began working for General Telephone in St Petersburg, FL where he retired in 1993. Upon retirement they moved to Bradenton, FL.

Bob was a husband, father, grandfather “PopPop” and a friend. Generally thought of a quiet man, he was actually quite talkative if you found a subject, he found interesting. He was a man who believed he could fix almost anything if he had the right tools and enough determination.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Theresa Marie (Kotre); his parents, Edward and Evelyn Davis; brothers, Edward James Davis and Richard Charles Davis and his sister, Joyce Evelyn (Davis) Field. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Ann Weaver; son-in-law, Darryl John Weaver; cherished granddaughters, Kristyn Caley Weaver and Lindsay Leigh Weaver and many loving nieces and nephews. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel will be handling the final arrangements. Per Bob’s wishes, the Memorial Service will be limited to immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be made to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
