Eugene Halsey Doucett, MSgt., USAF (Retired)
April 1, 1943 – December 9, 2016

Eugene Halsey Doucett, 73 years of age, in Jess Ranch, Apple Valley, CA. went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 9, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Katherine; daughters Debra Knorr (Keith), Celia Humphrey (Doug); sons Mark (Tina), Bruce (Carmen), Paul, (Gennie); step daughter Cynthia Franklin. Sister May Burns and Brother Philip; and many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and made many lifelong friends.

After high school, in Green Port, New York, he enlisted in the Air force, where he served our country for twenty-six years, retiring as MSgt. Part of his service was in rescue missions and when he retired his helicopter there were 109 bullet holes in it. Gene was funny, kind, and thoughtful. He loved sports, and was a loyal fan of the Giants. Gene had a passion for golf, loved to travel, collected music, and went to many concerts.

Preceding him in death was his beloved wife Mary of 43 years, father Robert, mother Martha, and his brother Robert. A special thank you to Dr. Mukesh M. Patel MD. for the 22 years that he cared for Gene and the nurses on the first and second floor; and ICU at the Victor Valley Global Medical Center. I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful care you gave him.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 1:00pm at Desert View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Victorville, CA with Pastor Carl Harris officiating, and music by Pastor Brian Hurst. Please join us for lunch after the service.
