David Duffy Jr., MSgt., USAF (Retired)
September 24, 1958 – April 20, 2012

MSgt. (Ret) David Duffy Jr., 53, of Rio Rancho, died April 20, 2012, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Dave was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sept. 24, 1958, to Maria Herdes of East Lyme, and David Duffy Sr. of Venice, Fla.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife, Pam; and three children, David Reeves, 33, of Hubert, N.C., and his wife, Yeni, Amber Reeves, 30, of Albuquerque, N.M, and her fiancée, Noah Donnarumma, and Ashleigh Reeves, 27, and her partner, Jonathan Davis, of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his three sisters, Lorraine Spakowski of East Lyme, and her husband, Paul, Colleen Fasciano of East Hampton, and her husband, Mark, and Pamela Duffy of Niantic, and her fiancée, Rick Somes; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many very dear friends.

Dave graduated from East Lyme High School in 1977 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in business administration in 1998. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1977 and proudly served his country for more than 21 years. He was a member of the USAF Special Operations where he served as a PAVE LOW door gunner and participated in numerous covert operations. Dave was a veteran of operations Just Cause, Desert Storm, and Restore Democracy; he retired from the USAF in 1999. David joined Sprint in 1999 where he worked, until the time of his death, at the Rio Rancho Call Center as a compliance manager.
