Helicopter Mech, AFSC 43170A;

Attended my first helicopter maint. school in San Marcos, Tx in 1955. Went on to work on and fly with H-21, H-19, H-43, and H-3. Was awarded the Sikorsky “Winged S” and Kaman life saving awards several times. Had the privilege of participating in Mid Air Recovery, using H-3 for 5 years. Retired while stationed at Elmendorf AFB in 1976. Pulled a one year tour at Bien Hoa, RVN with H-43’s. Did several TDY tours to Da Nang and Osan with the H-3.
