Lester J. Flint, MSgt., USAF (Retired)
October 23, 1931 – February 27, 2018
GANSEVOORT — Lester J. Flint, 86, passed away Feb. 27, 2018 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
Born in Glens Falls, Les was the son of the late Lester and Mary Flint.
Les was a helicopter flight engineer in the United States Air Force for over 24 years, assigned to numerous Air Rescue Squadrons and participating in multiple lifesaving helicopter operations. He also served two tours in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star medal. After retiring from the service, Les went on to have a career with the United States Postal Service, retiring from the Glens Falls office.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; sister, Shirley; and parents, Lester W. and Mary S. Flint.
He is survived by his sister, Christie and brothers, Robert and Warren. Les is also survived by daughter, Vicky; son, Christopher and his children, Krystal, Allysia, Madison and Ayden; and son, Jeffery and daughter-in-law, Carolyn, and their daughters, Abigail and Hannah; his great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Sophia and Hunter. Also surviving is his longtime companion, Zadie Winslow. He is already and always will be greatly missed by all.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service in the spring with full Military honors will be held at Saint Alphonsus Cemetery.
