Robert W. Geist, Major, USAF (Retired)
March 14, 1929 – October 24, 2008
GEIST, Robert W., “Bob” of Belleair, passed away Friday evening, Oct. 24th.
He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and finished his 20 years of service stationed at Patrick AFB in Satellite Beach, Florida as a Rescue and Recovery Pilot with NASA.
After retiring, he worked at Morton Plant Mease Hospital for 15 years as an electronic engineer.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Diane Hood Geist of Belleair, FL; a son, Gregory Todd Geist of Clearwater; and two daughters, Kristi Geist of Clearwater and Lori Geist of Tallahassee, FL.
No Services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with the Veterans Cremation & Burial Society

Major Geist served a tour in the Vietnam War as a CH-53C pilot with the 21st SOS in the 1973/1974 time frame.
