Kansas City, Missouri – Rockwell Nathan Greene passed away Oct. 25, 2021 in hospice care in Kansas City, Mo.

Nathan was born Sept 10, 1936 in Lincoln, Ks to Rockwell and Madge Greene. He graduated Lincoln High School 1954 and Kansas State College 1959 with a BS degree in Chemistry and a 2nd Lt. commission in USAF thru AFROTC. During his flight training at Malden AFB, Mo he met and married his wife, Ellen. After several locations in US they were assigned to Turkey until 1962 when he returned to Mobile, Al. where one of his duties was to fly helicopter cover for Martin Luther King march to Selma, Alabama. He reported to Viet Nam 1965 where he joined helicopter rescue detachment where he received 2 air medals & 2 DFC for his rescue missions.

After his tour he returned to US and was a pilot for TWA until his retirement 1992. He enjoyed life in California with his wife until her death in 2012. He remained in Ca until he moved to Kansas City in 2017 where he lived in Memory Care until his death.

He is survived by his son Rockwell Noel Greene and wife Rosalie and 8 grandchildren of St Paul, MN. Sister, Sue Kurzdorfer of Kansas City, 1 nephew, 2 nieces, and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10AM, Nov. 15, 2012. Grissom San Lorenzo Mortuary 32053 W. McCabe Rd. San Joaquin. Ca. Internment 12:30 PM Nov. 15, 2012 San Joaquin National Cemetery.

Capt. Green served a tour in the Vietnam War as a HH-43F pilot with Det. 7, 38th ARS in the 1965–1966-time frame.
