An H-19 from Edwards AFB, CA., crewed by Capt. Wayne W. Eggert (P), Newell H. Lynch (CP) and Charles M. Scott (FM), crashed while flying to Rosamond Dry Lake to pick up a drag chute, killing the entire crew. The cause of the crash was determined to be a missing cotter pin in the control system.
