Obituary for Mr. Boyd Hampton

Mr. Boyd Hampton, age 71, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland with his family.

Mr. Hampton was born April 4, 1946 in Bonifay, Florida to William I. and Vera May (Strickland) Hampton. He graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1965. He was a retired Mechanic for Hampton Brothers Automotive.

Boyd served in Vietnam as a Helicopter Mechanic for the United States Air Force with his twin brother. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Auburndale, member of the Winter Haven VFW Post 4289 and Winter Haven DAV.

Boyd enjoyed drag racing, fishing, working on antique cars and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father. Boyd is survived by his loving family; Wife of 52 years: Gloria Hampton of Auburndale, Mother: Vera May Hampton of Winter Haven, Son: Gregory Boyd (Debbie) Hampton of Lakeland, 2 Daughters: Kimberly Michelle (Steve) Hesters of Auburndale, Shannon DeAnne (Dennis) Strickland of Jupiter, Twin Brother: Lloyd (Cynthia) Hampton of Winter Haven, Sister: Lawanda (DE) Price of Winter Haven, 5 Grandchildren: Ashley, Taylor, Morgan, Logan & Rachel, 1 Great Great Grandson: Colton
