Michael Hargis
I started my flying career as a Tweet FAIP.
I transitioned to helos in 1992 when I completed Rotory Wing Transition Course at Ft. Rucker.
My first assignment was at Whiteman AFB flying the HH-1H at 47th RQS detachment.
Next assignment was 6th SOS starting in 1995. During my time there I flew HH-1H, UH-1N’s, UH-1H’s, Bell 212’s, Bell 412’s, SA332’s.
After leaving 6th SOS I got qualified in the MH-53M in 1999. Assigned to 20th SOS where I was Chief of Tactics and then ADO of C flight until 2001.
Summer 2001, I was the MH-53 PEM at AFSOC and then moved to CV-22 office at AFSOC summer of 2002.
I moved to MCAS New River to fly the MV-22 as one of the initial cadre assigned to VMX-22 for the Marine Operational Test Eval.
Summer 2005, I moved to Edwards AFB to be become CV-22 lead operational test pilot assigned to AFOTEC Det. 5.
