David Oliver Henneke, USAF
1948 – April 26, 1972
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Porter Loring Mortuary Chapel here for 1st Lt. David Oliver Henneke, 24, of San Antonio, who died about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday 50 miles south of Minot Air Force Base, N.D., when the UH-1F helicopter he was piloting plunged to the ground. He was a former Texas Tech student.
Henneke and three security airmen were part of an airborne security alert team which was on routine assignment when the aircraft crashed. All four crew members were killed.
Henneke was commissioned into the Air Force from the Air Force ROTC program at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Survivors include his parent, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Henneke of San Antonio, a sister, Mrs. Frank G. Potmesil of East Side, Ore., his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. English of Kingsland, Mrs. Tillie Henneke of Seguin.
