Robert L. Hess, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)

Robert Laurence Hess was born February 26, 1924, in Wheeling West, Virginia.

He retired July 31, 1969, from Elgin AF Aux Fld #9, Florida as Lt. Col. He completed helicopter flight school in 1953, Guided Missiles OBR 3121-3 in 1961 and Survival Training Course # 140000 in 1965.

He died May 29, 1982, from Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Lt. Colonel Hess served a Vietnam tour as a UH-1F/P pilot with the 20^th Helicopter Squadron “Green Hornets” in the 1967-time frame.
