Jon Keith Hoberg, MSgt, USAF (Retired)
April 05, 1946 – May 25, 2008
Jon Keith Hoberg, 62, passed away at his home in Phoenix Arizona from a fall on May 25, 2008.
Jon was a highly decorated Vietnam War hero and a major contributor to improving the efficiency of Arizona State Government by developing financial management and planning software systems.
As a Pararescueman in the U.S. Air Force, he was awarded the Silver Star for his participation in a raid on the Son Tay prison camp in North Viet Nam. The mission was organized to recover American POWs.
Memorial services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C on Wednesday September 3, 2008, at 3:00 P.M.
A local remembrance gathering will be held on Saturday July 19, 2008, at 3:00 P.M. at the American Legion-Post 29, 6822 N. 57th Drive in Glendale, Arizona.
The family is requesting that donations be made in Jon’s name to AzCATs (www.azcats.org) or to the Arizona Animal Welfare League (No kill shelter) (www.aawl.org).
