Walter E. Hogan, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
July 31, 1936 – August 05, 1995

Bossier City, LA – Memorial Service for Lt. Col. (Ret.) Walter E. Hogan Jr., 59, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 1995, at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier Chapel, Officiating will be Brother Jim Nunley.

Lt. Col. Hogan died Saturday, August 5, 1995, in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. He was born in Mariana, FL. and was a resident of Bossier City, LA. A graduate of the U. S. Air Force Academy, Lt. Col. Hogan retired from the U. S. Air Force. He attended many military schools, received numerous medals and honors and was a member of the Retired Officers Association. He held a management degree and a Masters in Education. Lt. Col. Hogan was also an Aeronautics instructor at the Universities of Omaha and S. California and was a manager for Enron.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen H. Hogan; mother, Josephenne Hanna and stepfather, Bishop; Stepdaughter, Joy Balance; two sons, Kelly Hogan and wife Morgan and Keith Hogan; two sisters, Louise Grooms and husband Bill and Linda Williams; grandson, Glenn Balance and granddaughter, Nickey Hogan; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Walter Hogan and father, Walter E. Hogan Sr.

Capt. Hogan served a Vietnam War tour as a HH-43B/F pilot with Det. 5 (Provisional), PARC in 1965 and with Det. 7, 38th ARRS in the 1969-1970-time frame.
