Roy Leland Huffman, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)

December 06, 1931 – December 24, 2021

Roy Leland Huffman, Lt. Col. USAF ret, passed away on Christmas Eve, 2021. He was born in Lexington, KY in 1931, the eldest son of Roy A. and Marjorie Huffman. Educated in Lexington public schools, he was a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

After college he entered pilot training as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF.

In his 26 years in the Air Force he flew several different airplanes, notably B47s in his many years in SAC during the Cold War. He also flew rescue helicopters HH-43’s in Da Nang Viet Nam. During his many assignments he served as a nuclear weapons officer and commanded several Munitions Maintenance Squadrons.

He was a member of UCUMC in Oviedo Fl.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Nancy S Huffman and his 3 children

Amy Freeman (John), Leland A Huffman (Elizabeth), and Michael Huffman (Pamela). He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with a 5th expected.
