T.F.C. ANTHONY JONES; beloved husband of Eugenia (Harper)-Jones; loving father of Josefine B. and Jessica A.H. Jones; dear son of Fred and Josefine Jones; devoted brother of Josefine Charlotte Talbot, Fred R. Jones and James R. Jones; dear uncle of Mary, Belinda and Taylor Nicole Talbot.

Friends may call at the Church of the Redeemer, 6201 Dunrobbin Dr., Bethesda, MD Thursday 12 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.

The Funeral Service will be held Friday 10 A.M. at the Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

Notice of contributions will appear Thursday. Arrangements by the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc.

Anthony Jones
Trooper First Class Anthony Jones was struck and killed by a vehicle being operated by an intoxicated driver.

He and another trooper were on the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the shoulder of Route 50 near Freeway Airport in Bowie. Both patrol cars were in a lighted area and had their emergency equipment activated. Trooper Jones was removing a tire from a travel lane of the highway when he was struck by a van and dragged several hundred yards. Prior to the collision, Trooper Jones had utilized his flashlight to warn the motorist of his intentions.

The driver stopped near the scene and was taken into custody after he exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was charged with several counts in connection with the incident. The subject was ultimately fined $600 and was required to attend traffic school.

Anthony served in the USAF as a Flight Engineer on UH-1N’s with the 1st Helicopter Squadron, Andrews AFB, Md. in the mid-1990-time frame.
