USAF ROTORHEAD Members
Bill Kaseman
I served 23 years in the Air Force and seventeen years was both in the flying side and maintenance side of the helicopters. I served on the:
- UH -1F/P and UH-1N Hueys
- CH and HH-3
- H-53
I served at Vandenberg AFB, CA, Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB, FL, Ramstein Germany, Osan Korea, Clark AB Philippines, 3 tours in Vietnam at Binh Thuy; Da Nang, and Cam Ranh Bay (home bases but mostly at Special Forces sites doing LRRP missions).
I have received the Distinguished Flying Cross from a special ops mission near Dak To RVN on 10 March 1972.
I retired and worked in the Eglin AFB area for 15 years as a GED Instructor at Okaloosa-Walton Community College (now named Okaloosa-Walton College), as a school therapist in the county school system, an intervention therapist with the county youth incarceration program, and as a mental health counselor for Walton County. I then was offered a position as a contracted education counselor at Eglin AFB.
Then went into civil service as a GS-9 counselor at Charleston AFB, SC for two years and was promoted to a GS-11 Education Counselor position at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. were I am currently serving our military and civil service personnel.
I am glad to be working and giving back to a great organization that provided me the opportunity to excel and achieve an education.
