My tribute to a great man, who made his “final flight” last week, Col. Dale Kissinger. Col. (then Major) Kissinger was a dear friend of mine, and I flew with him many times as a flight engineer/gunner on UH-1N helicopters. We were in Panama together, and Scott Air Force Base at the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service Standardization and Evaluation team of aircrew. Major Kissinger was a true leader and “enlisted man’s officer”. (Those who really knew him know what I am mean). I am very saddened to hear of his passing. America has lost a true hero. Many of his crewmen and fellow military will be gathering in Kokomo, Indiana the third weekend of September, and annually, for any of his family members wanting to come meet us.
