Labrador, Daniel R.
Daniel Ramon Labrador, USAF (Retired)
April 20, 1960 – May 28, 2015
Daniel R. Labrador 1960-2015 Daniel R. Labrador, 55, of Navarre, FL passed away on May 28, 2015. He was born in Havana, Cuba, the only son of Roberto and Rosa Labrador.
In 1966, the family immigrated to Hialeah, where Dan attended the Miami-Dade Public Schools. Upon graduation, Dan enlisted and served 24 years in the United States Air Force. During his service, Dan completed his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UWF and upon retirement, became a teacher at West Navarre Intermediate School for 11 years. He also completed his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and had planned to become a school administrator.
In 2011, Dan was diagnosed with a cancer of the plasma cells known as multiple myeloma. His three-year fight took him to Texas and Arkansas for treatment, but ended at home in Navarre. Over the years, Dan had too many hobbies to name, but also enjoyed baseball, movies, boating, and spending time with his friends and family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Lidia, his father Roberto, and his son Daniel with his wife Ketima. His daughter Eileen Enos, with her husband Shawn and their children, Shawn and Aiden, also survive him. He also leaves behind the hundreds of lives that he touched through his teaching, coaching, mentoring, and friendship.
Arrangements are being made by Family-Funeral & Cremation. However, the burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations can be sent to Home Away From Home: A Ministry of Little Rock Church. (http://www.littlerockchurch.org/ministries/outreach/home-away-from-home/) This organization provided Dan and Lidia with housing during his treatment in Little Rock.
A Celebration-of-Life will be held at the Labrador home on Saturday, June 6th from 4:00-7:00. The family asks that all who knew and loved Dan join them in raising a glass to this remarkable man.

I had the pleasure of going to UWF with Dan. He was great fun, and a wonderful student. He had the heart for teaching. I’m not surprised to read about the number of students and parents he touched. I remember how he lit up talking about you, Lidia, and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. My son Austin was blessed to have Mr. Labrador for a teacher. He is now entering 10th grade. He was an amazing mentor and leader. He encouraged Austin through a tough time and touched our lives more than he probably realized! Praying for peace, strength and comfort for the family!!

He was a wonderful patient and a great fighter of his disease as was his wife Lidia. Both were determined and did everything we asked of them during his treatment. Alderfer family want to give our deepest condolences in your loss.
As Jesus said in John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
