Donald Lowman, 68, of Cabot, passed away August 22, 2019. He was born February 3, 1951 in Manila, Arkansas to the late David Leon and Lucille Elizabeth Whytte Lowman.

Mr. Lowman grew up as a sharecropper and finished high school at night using an oil lamp. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served his country for over 26 years. His military career included two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour in Desert Storm. He was a member of the “Jolly Green Rescue Team” in Vietnam that sought the lost and rescued the fallen. It was on these missions that he suffered injuries.

Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1996, he was the Little Rock Air Force Base Command Chief and had served as such under several base commanders. Mr. Lowman was baptized in 1975 and was a faithful member of Cabot Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 21 years and taught Sunday School every Sunday. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, old westerns and telling jokes.

Mr. Lowman will be remembered for his strong love of God, his family and his country.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Lowman; children, Dawn (Michael) Segerson and Elizabeth (Robert) Lanius; grandchildren, Matthew, Lilly and Thomas Segerson; brothers, Lee (Judy) Lowman and Ronnie (Barbara) Lowman; many nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as many friends.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Cabot Church of Christ with Brother Chuck Ball officiating.

Interment will be 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2019 at the church.
