Paul F. Lukasiewicz, Sgt., USAF

Paul F. Lukasiewicz, 73, of South Scranton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 31, at Allied Services Hospice after a brief illness. His wife is the former Marilyn Ritter. The couple celebrated 49 years of marriage Sept. 30, 2021.
Born Sept. 14, 1948, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Julia Koniszewski Lukasiewicz. Paul was a graduate of Dickson City High School and a sergeant in the Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he spent more than 50 years working at Tobyhanna Army Depot as an electronics technician. He traveled throughout the states and out of the country for work.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow. Paul was a hard worker and loving father and will be dearly missed by his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Paul M. Lukasiewicz of Moscow and Julie Ann Lukasiewicz of Scranton, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Manus and Theresa Ritter, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank Allied Services, especially Ruth, Meghan, Crystal, Melissa and Jonathan, for their compassionate care of Paul and kindness shown to his family.
A Mass was celebrated Friday, June 3, at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow with the Rev. Thomas Muldowney, pastor of the church as celebrant, and the Rev. Michael Finn as con-celebrant.
Military honors followed the funeral Mass.
Interment and committal prayers were conducted at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Twp.
Donations can made in Paul’s name to St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow.

Paul served as a UH-1P helicopter crew chief with the 20th SOS “Green Hornets” during the Vietnam War in the 1968-1970 time frame.
