I began my career, signed in at Jacksonville, Florida in November 1954, went by train to Lackland, for basic training, was assigned to Gary AFB for Rotary Wind Training Feb 1955 began H-19 class, graduating second.
I retired at Hill AFB, Utah November 1974.

William “Bill” Franklin Lyster, USAF (Retired)
October 31, 1936 – April 05, 2023
Mr. William ‘Bill’ Franklin Lyster, age 86, of Leonia, Florida passed away April 5, 2023, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, Florida.
He was born October 31, 1936, in Holmes County Florida to the late Leverette Franklin ‘Buck’ Lyster and Ruby Catherine Pagett Lyster. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one daughter, Monica Lyster and one brother, Charles W. Lyster.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Ronda Roberts of Dothan, AL; one sister, Frances Lyster Jacobs of Niceville, FL; one grandson, Stephen Kasica and wife Shalaya; one great-grandson, Kasten; three nieces, Janet Morse, Vicki Grace, and Amanda Lyster Ulam; one nephew, Ronald Jacobs.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the Leonia Cemetery. Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
