Glenn M. Marks, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
April 17, 1933 – December 19, 2004
Glenn Merhl Marks, Lt. Col. (USAF, retired), 71, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Stroud Nursing Home, Marietta, S.C. Glenn was born the first time April 17, 1933, to the late Emily (Anderson) and Merhl Marks, in Kecksburg, Pa., and born again in February of this year at his home north of Marietta.
Glenn retired from the Air Force after 20 years, followed by an additional 24 years of teaching Air Force Junior ROTC. He was a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school director and deacon. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Glenn was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Air medals, Air Force Meritorious Service medals and Commendation medals.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jo E. (Pollard) Marks; two sons, Barry Marks, Maj. (USA, retired), and wife Andrea, and Ronald Marks, Maj. (USAF, retired) and wife, Joann; two grandchildren, Rebekah Ann and David Aaron Marks; and a brother, R. Wade Miller and wife, Jane.
Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Locust Hill Baptist Church. Private family burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, Lottie Moon Christmas Fund, 5534 Locust Hill Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690. HOWZE MORTUARY, Travelers Rest, South Carolina, in charge of arrangements.
