Shirrel Glen Martin, USAF (Retired)
August 07, 1926 – January 06, 2018
Kaysville, UT – Shirrel Glen Martin, age 91, passed away January 6, 2018. Born August 7, 1926 in Magna, UT to Glen B. and Mabel S. Martin. Married to Barbara Jean Blalock on December 16, 1950 in Denison, TX.
Shirrel was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam having served a total of 30 years on active duty in the U.S Army Air Corp and the U.S Air Force. After retirement from military service, he taught a Layton High School in the math department for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Kevin (June) Martin, Susan (Michael) Albin, Pamela (Ed) Arnett, and Steve (Shellie) Martin; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Barbara (Wayne) Fullmer; and sister-in-law, June Martin. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Hollis Martin and Glen (Janice) Martin; and sister, Gerry (Dee) Peel.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Kaysville Crestwood LDS Ward, 1039 E. Crestwood Rd, where viewings will be held both Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10-10:45 a.m.
