More detail on this person: Colonel Donald Bernard Maurras, 70 THERON ANTHONY ADAMS Times-Picayune, The (New Orleans, LA) – Wednesday, May 22, 1996 Donald Bernard Maurras, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, died Tuesday of cancer at Chateau de Notre Dame. He was 70. Col. Maurras was a lifelong resident of Algiers. He graduated from Behrman High School. He was a member of the Order of Daedalians and Retired Officers Association. Survivors include a son, Jeffery B. Maurras; a daughter, Judith Ann Mello; a sister, Betty Jane Brust; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers. Visitation will begin at noon. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.
