Richard Morgan (Dick) McCabe, Major, USAF
July 10, 1930 – August 10, 2007
Richard (Dick) Morgan McCabe, 77, husband of Kathryn Ann Rains McCabe, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at the home of his son in Florence.
Born in Gilberton, Pa., he was a son of the late William (Bill) Frederick McCabe and the late Catherine (Kitty) Tregea McCabe.
He was a retired U.S. Air Force pilot, a Vietnam War veteran and a Distinguished Flying Cross recipient. After the Air Force he retired from eighteen years as a school teacher from Hillcrest High School. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Claremont Masonic Lodge No. 64.
He was preceded in death by a son, William B. “Bill” McCabe, and two sisters, Norma Bock and Faye McCabe.
Internment with full military honors was held at Evergreen Memorial Park.
