HERRIN – James W. McGinnis, 58, died 9:54 p.m. Friday, Nov 14, 2000, at the Herrin Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the America Legion and VFW Post.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Mr. McGinnis was a retired factory worker from Allen Industries. He was a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran, having served in Vietnam.
He was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Herrin, to James E. and Lora Mae McGinnis. His mother survives of Herrin.
Also surviving are his wife, Elizabeth A. McGinnis of Herrin; one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Scott Pribble of Herrin; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Paul Daugherty of Herrin; one brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Sue McGinnis of Herrin; one grandson, Tylar Pribble of Herrin; and one granddaughter, Kailee Pribble of Herrin.
His father and one grandson, Skylar Pribble preceded him in death.

James served a tour in the Vietnam War as a CH-3E helicopter crew chief and maintainer with the 21st Special Operations Squadron “Dust Devils” in the 1968–1969-timeframe.
