Charles E. McMillan, USAF (Retired)

Valley Morning Star (Harlingen, TX) Tuesday, April 20, 2010 – Charles E. McMillan 76, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Harlingen Medical Center.
He was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and spent his childhood there before heading off to “tilt windmills”. He became an Air Force pilot, married his high school sweetheart, and served honorably for 20 years while living around the world.
Chuck became fluent in Spanish and got tremendous joy in helping those less fortunate and making wonderful, lifelong friends along the way.
He had two children, Shelley and Billy, who now reside in Denver, Colorado along with his beloved grandchildren, Carlee, Ava and Max. He is also survived by his wife, Sharon Wasson McMillan and her children, Diana, Susanne and Robert and grandchildren Sean, Christopher, Brick and Blake.
They had 15 joyful years together while living in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas and Mexico and enjoyed bike riding, church, Mexican sunsets and friends. Chuck will be missed by all who knew him. At his request, there will be no funeral services at this time. There will be a Celebration of his Life in Barra de Navidad, Mexico in late 2010.

Capt. Charles E. McMillan served in the Vietnam War as a HH-43B/F pilot with Det. 1 & Det. 5, 38th ARS in the 1965–1966-time frame.
