Roy Frank Mercer, USAF
August 16, 1946 – November 01, 2018
MERCER, Roy Frank 72, passed away November 1, 2018.
He was born in Dunedin, FL to Roy Frank Mercer and Maria Rose (Miccio) Mercer and was a graduate of Dunedin High School class of 1964.
As a young man Frank enjoyed playing baseball for Dunedin All Stars. He was an avid sports memorabilia collector. Frank served his country in the Air Force in Viet Nam. He was an elite member of Det. 2, 37th & Det. 5, 38th ARRS. Frank was a Crew Chief of a CH-3C Jolly Green Giant air rescue helicopter. His mission was rescuing downed pilots shot down in Laos and North Viet Nam.
He is survived by his loving wife, Erin; son, Justin; brothers, Paul, Tom, Donald, and Robert; sister, Rosemarie; nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John. Frank was a very successful businessman. He had a very loving heart and helped family and business associates.
Frank will be dearly missed by family and friends.
