Gaylon R. Overton, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)

Gaylon Royce Overton, 68, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Orr, minister of missions, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Overton was born in Borger and had lived in Dumas since 1979. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Anita McCown in 1990 at Dumas.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Terry Overton of Garland, Brent Overton of Flower Mound and David McCown of Amarillo; his mother, Rubye Mae Overton of Dumas; a brother, Charles L. Overton of Dumas; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E Second, Dumas, TX 79029; or the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

Captain Gaylon R. Overton served in the Vietnam War as a HH-43F pilot with Det. 1, 38th ARRS in the 1968-time frame.
