Roger S. Penney, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
June 28, 1928 – July 17, 1971
BRADLEY – Lt. Col. Roger Penney, 43, died suddenly July 17 while on leave at his father’s camp. Born in Bradley, June 28, 1928, he was the son of Donald and the late Belle (Gardiner) Penney.
A former Bradley resident, he was a helicopter pilot with the 703rd Tactical Training Squadron, 68th Tactical Training Group, at Shaw AFB, SC.
Beside his father and his stepmother, Mrs. Emma (Strang) Penney, Brewer; he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora (Oullette) Penney; a son, Roger Jr. and daughter Miss Paula Jean, all of Sumter, S.C.; a brother, Russell of Camden, a sister, Mrs. Jennie Breen of Stony Point, Calif., several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Remains are at the Baillargeon Funeral Home, 109 Middle Street, Old Town, where friends may call anytime.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Old Town. Burial will be in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Old Town.
