Precious, Thomas D.

Thomas D. Precious, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
June 15, 1938 – May 18, 2010

Tom graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1956 and attended Stanford University. He completed his degree at Central Washington University where he had transferred to be near his future wife. He graduated from the Air Force ROTC program there and entered active duty in 1960. He was an air rescue helicopter pilot and computer controller. He served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 and received three DFCs and eight Air Medals. He retired after 22 years in the Air Force as a Lt. Col. and returned to his hometown of Cle Elum, Washington.

Tom was Director of Computer Services for Kittitas County, Washington, for 20 years and a member of VFW Post #1373.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanne Mattielli Precious; three daughters, Debbie Preciuous Burchak of Spokane, Karen Precious of Ellensburg and Jody Precious Burchak of Cle Elum, and six grandchildren, Bryce Burchak, Dawson Burchak, Sena Burchak, Brooklyn Burchak, Brennan Burchak, Alaina Burchak.

Captain Thomas D. Precious served in the Vietnam War as a HH-43F pilot with Det. 10, 38th ARRS in the 1967-1968-1969-time frame.
