December 28, 1927 – March 1, 2017
Anthony J. Rita, Jr., 89, of Glastonbury, husband of Marion (Gautieri) Rita, passed away peacefully Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Hartford Hospital with his family at his side. Born December 28, 1927 in Hartford son of the late Anthony D. Rita and Madeline (Serignese) Maltese.
He had lived in Glastonbury since 1973. Prior to his retirement in 2000 he was a vice president for Kaman Aerospace having worked there 43 years. He was a member of the American Helicopter Society and Vintage Radio Club. He was a Ham radio Operator and also enjoyed bowling and golfing in his spare time. He was an American Veteran having served in the US Army during World War II.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Lisa Muller Rita of Glastonbury, a daughter Pamela Rita Green of Nashua, NH, a grandson John Michael Rita of Glastonbury and a sister Dorothy Giametti of Key West, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 4 at 10 am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday March 3 from 4-7 pm.
