Roberson, Lee Alan, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)

Lee Alan Roberson of Boise flew from this world on April 27, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 1 at the Boise Church of Christ, 2000 Eldorado St. Boise, Idaho.
Lee was born on January 15, 1955 to Alvin and Alice Roberson in Caldwell. He has one brother, Jay (Rosie) and a sister, Tina (Steve Towell).
Lee was raised in Arena Valley, west of Wilder, and then went to the University of Idaho where he studied Wildlife Management and became a 2nd Lieutenant in Air Force ROTC. He joined the Air Force in 1977 and was trained as a helicopter pilot. During his career, he flew many search and rescue missions. In the following years, he was blessed with the birth of two beautiful daughters, Alicia (Sean) Smith, and Chelsea (Christian) Tuttle. Lee was stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Eglin AFB Florida, Okinawa, Kirkland AFB and McClellan AFB. He piloted Huey’s and Blackhawk helicopters saving many lives and then trained many young pilots. He retired from the United Air Force after 20 years of Honorable service as Lt. Col Lee Roberson.
He then met the love of his life and married Carolyn Brown on November 1, 2005 and they moved back to Salmon, Idaho to retire. He was blessed with five stepchildren and four amazing grandsons. Lee was preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia.
