Oliver L. Stevenson, Major, USAF (Retired)

Oliver Lyle Stevenson, 80, of Cheyenne, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Lyle was born June 18, 1937, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, a son to Lester and Jessie (Muir) Stevenson.

Lyle was married to Carol Dalrymple on June 2, 1957. He served 22 years with the United States Air Force as a pilot. After retiring, he worked as a pilot for Air Life of Greeley.

Lyle loved to travel and spent many winters in Texas. He enjoyed camping, computers and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include four children, Debra Stevenson of Cheyenne; Keith (Teri) Stevenson of Denver; Sue (CJ) Johnson of Goodridge, Minnesota; Brian (Wendy) Stevenson of Cheyenne; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Lyle was preceded in death by his wife Carol on December 18, 2006; a son, Richard; his parents; and three siblings, Leo and Paul Stevenson and Pearl Grothe.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks that Memorial Contributions be made in Lyle’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 9209 Ridge Road, Cheyenne, WY 82009.

Oliver L. Stevenson served at tour in the Vietnam War as a Major and pilot of U.S. Air Force UH-1N with the 20th SOS “Green Hornets” in the 1970-1972 time frame.
