John “Mike” Michael Teal, SSgt., USAF (Fallen)
December 05, 1973 – March 23, 2003
Air Force Staff Sgt. Teal was assigned to the 41st Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. Teal was a flight engineer killed in the crash of a Pave Hawk HH-60 that was picking up two injured Afghan children.
John attended Good Shepherd Episcopal School and graduated in 1993 from Bishop Lynch High School. He attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Chi Psi Fraternity.
Mike had plans for when he returned this spring from his deployment in Afghanistan. He was to marry July 12, live with his bride in Valdosta, Georgia and eventually return to Ole Miss to finish his bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management. Because he fell in love enough with Ole Miss, he didn’t want to go someplace else to finish.
